But going to a competition adds a whole new dimension to the hobby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competitions are not just for finding out who is the fastest. At competitions we have the possibility to meet, learn from each other, and have a good time together.<br>Everyone is welcome to compete, whether you solve in seconds or minutes. Everyone competes against everyone, there are no age classes or age limits.<br>When you compete at an official competition you will get a WCA profile where all your results and personal bests are collected. Here you can register your email address to receive notifications when there is a new competition near you: <a href=\"https:\/\/svekub.pythonanywhere.com\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/svekub.pythonanywhere.com\/\">Competition notifications<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to register for a competition?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create an account on the WCA website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/users\/sign_up\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/users\/sign_up\">Create account<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Log in to your new account: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/users\/sign_in\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/users\/sign_in\">Log in<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the competition's WCA page (for example though the page <a href=\"https:\/\/svekub.se\/en\/kommande-tavlingar\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/svekub.se\/kommande-tavlingar\/\">Upcoming competitions<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click \"Register\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to the bottom and follow the registration process\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accept the conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay the registration fee (note that registration is not complete until the fee is paid!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will now receive an email that the registration has been submitted and is awaiting approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The competition organizer will review and approve the registration, usually within 24 hours. You will then receive another email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations, you are now registered for your first competition! \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also don't forget to register as a SveKub <a href=\"https:\/\/svekub.se\/en\/bli-medlem\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/svekub.se\/bli-medlem\/\">member<\/a> to enjoy a 25% discount on registration fees, and also support us (the membership is <strong>free!<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do competitions work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The WCA Regulations govern how competitions are run. As a competitor you should be familiar with the regulations so that you know the competition procedures, can avoid time penalties, etc.<br>We have also translated the regulations to Swedish, but keep in mind that the English version holds priority if there are any differences in wording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find the WCA Regulations on the WCA website, read them in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/regulations\/\" target=\"_blank\">English<\/a> or <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/regulations\/translations\/swedish\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/regulations\/translations\/swedish\/\" target=\"_blank\">Swedish.<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To aid new competitors there is also a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/edudoc\/competitor-tutorial\/tutorial.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.worldcubeassociation.org\/edudoc\/competitor-tutorial\/tutorial_se.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Competitor Tutorial<\/a> which summarizes the regulations and explain the competition process.<br>We can also recommend watching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LUU7YKnSn1g\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LUU7YKnSn1g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this video<\/a> which explains the competition process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At competitions there is usually no dedicated staff, we all help out with judging, scrambling, and running for the groups we are not competing in.<br>When you arrive at the competition you will receive a personal schedule where you can find which groups you are competing in, and which groups you need to help out with staffing.<br>It is very important that everyone follows their personal schedules, and help out when they are scheduled to. If you can't help out in some round you have to inform about this as early as possible, so that someone else can fill your spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are only personal schedules for the first round of each event, since we don't know who will advance beforehand. In subsequent rounds everyone needs to help out. Listen to the organizers when they ask for help!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any question you are always welcome to contact the organizer, delegate, or SveKub.
